Layering is something that I personally love to do on a regular basis. It can add dimension to your outfit, especially when you’re wearing similar shades.
Layering can be done in many different ways, from wearing shirts under dungarees to throwing on a chunky scarf, but today, I wanted to bring to you a 4 different ways that I like to layer my outfits.
LOOK 1 – LEATHER THROW OVER
This is one of my new favourites. Sometimes, a leather jacket can look a little too much worn properly, so I like to rest the jacket over my shoulders. It provides a little warmth, but also creates a nice silhouette and some structure to your outfit. I threw my cropped, short sleeve leather jacket on with my mid-length denim skirt and a black body-suit. Paired with a cross-body bag (surprise, surprise), this look is a great evening look.
LOOK 2 – NECK TIE
I recently experimented with an old bandanna that I found laying about in my draw by tying it loosely around my neck with a choker. I actually really enjoyed this look, it added a pop of colour to my all black attire and I think it worked quite well with my oversized t-shirt and black skinny ripped jeans.
LOOK 3 – TURTLE NECK TEE
This is my absolute favourite way to layer an outfit. I wore a turtle neck bodysuit with a satin-style asymmetric top, paired with high-waist denim jeans and a leather buckle-belt. I like to tuck the front of my top into my jeans, as it looks much more flattering and also shows off my belt. I definitely encourage everyone to try out this particular technique!
LOOK 4 – TURTLE NECK DRESS
This is a really easy to wear look and it can completely re-invent an old outfit. I wore my turtle neck body suit with this loose fitting knee length dress and wore a black leather belt to pull the outfit together. This dress is actually for sale on my Depop account, so if you’re interested in purchasing it, check it out here: floaty floral dress.
